Birthday Forecast
To my thirty-something daughter in law, whose birthday comes today,
On the hill, she’s gaining ground, soon Father Time, she’ll have to pay.
For the days of youth are gone, no longer can you compete for the prize.
Now, your goal each morning is out of bed to be able to rise.
More and more you’ll be learning, what the elders are going through.
And why we sit around, so much more than we ever used to.
But enough of the gloom and doom, I want to thank this little one,
For being so very good to my one and only son.
