What is Love?
How do I know it’s really love? People ask the question everyday,
I know it’s not just how they look, how they act, or even what they have to say.
Love is a feeling, so very hard to describe,
I know it has to come only from deep inside.
Love makes you want to do things that you’d rather not,
Especially when it’s cold or really scorching hot.
Love is what makes you want to please your mate,
And never ever use the terrible word called hate!
Love makes us want to sacrifice for our one true lover,
For we know in our heart there can be no other.
Love is what gives us that happy funny feeling
And sometimes even sends us spinning and reeling.
Being in love is not always fun and games,
Sometimes a selfish beast inside will have to be tamed.
If each will have the other first in their hearts and thoughts,
I can’t see how a marriage could flounder or ever be lost.
Love makes us wonder, how we made it without,
That beautiful, wonderful creature that our life is all about.
Love makes us happy and fills our empty soul,
True love will never let our hearts grow cold.
